L’Oréal Professionnel
Creation of a packaging document sharing tool, definition of a new validation process, and management of translations for subsidiaries.
Artwork production for a global organization
L’Oréal Professionnel includes prestigious brands such as Kerastase, Shu Uemura, L’Oréal Professionnel Paris, present internationally and translated into 26 languages.
For this global organization, there are 30 DMI product managers and 5 departments to coordinate involved in packaging development: DMI Marketing / Decor Cell / Legal / Factory / Country Marketing.
Document validation, coordinated by the Marketing department, was done exclusively via email. The process was lengthy, time-consuming, and prone to errors.
Every legal text change within a range triggers changes across all documents and thus a new validation loop.
Translation management is complex: each country has oversight of marketing translations proposed by DMI, which can result in text variations on each product and new translations.
Objectives
Better management of legal and regulatory changes.
Better management of translations through a specific process.
Improvement of Time-to-Market.
Loopz puts collaboration at the heart of process optimization
Workshops conducted prior to the project demonstrated the benefits of having two main stages in optimizing the validation process implemented with Loopz.
1/ Final validation of a master by all stakeholders.
Format/reference variations are therefore launched only once the Master is validated, and are carried out more quickly and efficiently.
2/ A specific flow for translation.
Each local product manager submits their own translation directly onto the online document, integrating into a country-specific flow.
An online tracking module was developed to monitor the status of each translation.
